They discuss mandatory e-procurement in Austria, which has been in place for public procurement since 2018. Our experts dive into the topic of the advantages and disadvantages of electronic procurement and identify some common pitfalls, such as issues with registration, insufficient email responsiveness and technical difficulties when submitting bids. Despite these challenges, they emphasise that e-procurement has brought significant improvements and benefits, outweighing the drawbacks. Furthermore, they encourage understanding and avoiding these pitfalls to make the most of digital progress in the procurement process.
