Wolf Theiss strengthens its partnership with two senior appointments in Prague and Warsaw

Vienna, Prague, Warsaw, 1 September 2026 – Wolf Theiss welcomes Luděk Chvosta as Partner in its Prague Banking & Finance practice and Paweł Łączkowski as Partner and Head of Energy & Natural Resources in Poland. The two appointments further strengthen the firm’s capabilities in two key areas across CEE.

In Prague, Luděk Chvosta joins the Banking & Finance practice, working alongside Partner Robert David. Luděk brings more than 20 years of experience advising major domestic and international banks on cross-border financings governed by Czech and English law, as well as on financial regulation, capital markets, insolvency and FinTech. He has previously held senior positions at international law firms, where he established and led Banking & Finance teams and developed new areas of practice.

Luděk is qualified in the Czech Republic, England & Wales, New York and the District of Columbia. His experience spans complex cross-border acquisition finance, restructuring and insolvency matters, capital markets and financial litigation. He has also played a leading role in developing FinTech and English-law capabilities within international law firms.

Luděk has a strong track record of building successful banking and finance practices. Together with Robert David, he strengthens our offering for clients in Prague and reflects our commitment to growing in the Czech market. We look forward to what this expanded team will deliver.

In Warsaw, Paweł Łączkowski joins Wolf Theiss as Partner and Head of the Energy & Natural Resources team in Poland. He combines extensive legal expertise with first-hand knowledge of the energy business, having previously served in senior management and as general counsel within one of Poland’s largest energy groups.

Paweł advises on major energy investments and regulatory matters, with particular experience in renewable energy and energy storage, gas, hydrogen and nuclear energy. His work also includes due diligence and risk assessments for energy projects as well as the negotiation of physical and virtual Power Purchase Agreements. Before joining Wolf Theiss, he gained experience at an international law firm and a Big Four professional services firm.

Paweł brings an excellent combination of legal expertise, sector knowledge and first-hand understanding of the energy industry. His appointment significantly strengthens our Energy & Natural Resources capabilities in Poland and enhances our ability to support clients across the full lifecycle of complex energy projects.
