Wolf Theiss advises Hueck Folien on the acquisition of WaveFront Technology

Vienna, 28 January 2026 – Wolf Theiss has acted as legal counsel to Hueck Folien Gesellschaft m.b.H in connection with the acquisition of WaveFront Technology LLC, a specialist in nano- and microstructured optical features. The transaction reinforces Hueck Folien’s technological independence and marks a significant step in strengthening its position in the global security market.

Hueck Folien is a global specialist in visually sophisticated and functional surface coatings in the security, labeling and design markets, headquartered in Baumgartenberg, Austria. The company supplies high-quality films with complex security features for banknotes and various security documents worldwide. Through the acquisition of WaveFront Technology, Hueck Folien is expanding its technological capabilities across its Austrian and US sites to support long-term growth in the global security and banknote market.

WaveFront Technology LLC is a US-based provider with more than 30 years of experience in the development and production of nano‑ and microstructured optical features for security, packaging, lighting, aerospace and display applications. The company’s facility in Paramount, California will be integrated into the Hueck Folien Group as a development and production location.

Wolf Theiss advised Hueck Folien Gesellschaft m.b.H. as lead counsel on all legal aspects of the transaction, including the structuring of the acquisition, drafting and negotiation of the transaction documentation and coordination with local counsels and commercial and financial advisors to the client.
