Rep Data acquires ReDem with legal support from Wolf Theiss

Vienna, 11 March 2026 – Wolf Theiss has acted as legal counsel to Rep Data Group, a leading provider of full-service market research and data quality solutions, in connection with the acquisition of ReDem GmbH, an Austrian provider of AI-powered in-survey data quality solutions. The transaction enhances Rep Data’s data quality capabilities by integrating presurvey fraud prevention with realtime insurvey assessment.

Rep Data Group supports approximately 500 clients worldwide, including market research agencies, management consultancies, Fortune 500 companies, advertising agencies, brand strategy consultancies, universities, communications agencies and public relations firms. Backed by Mountaingate Capital, Rep Data focuses on delivering reliable and repeatable data collection services with an emphasis on data quality.

ReDem GmbH is an Austria-based SaaS company specialising in market research data quality assurance. Its AI-driven tools detect and remove low-quality, fraudulent, bot-generated or AI-assisted survey responses in real time or post-fieldwork. The company’s technology is designed to safeguard quantitative research by ensuring the integrity and reliability of collected data.

This partnership brings together Rep Data’s pre-survey fraud prevention technology, Research Defender and ReDem’s real-time evaluation tools, creating an end-to-end approach to survey data quality that addresses risks before and during fieldwork.

Wolf Theiss advised Rep Data on all Austrian legal aspects of the transaction, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating the SPA and ancillary documents.

The interdisciplinary Wolf Theiss team was led by Daniel Lungenschmid (Partner, Corporate/M&A), supported by Karin Spindler (Consultant, Tax), Anna Schwamberger (Counsel, Employment), Paulina Pomorski (Counsel, IP&IT), Jonathan Gruber, Hamdi Amer (both Associates, Corporate/M&A) and Johannes Sekanina (Senior Associate, Data Protection).

Wolf Theiss acted in coordination with lead counsel Morrison Foerster.

“We congratulate Rep Data on this important step. We appreciated the trust placed in us and valued the collaborative approach that defined this transaction.”

– Daniel Lungenschmid, Partner
