HR Unplugged Roundtable on current developments and challenges in employment law

The Employment team at Wolf Theiss Romania is pleased to invite you to the second edition of HR Unplugged, a roundtable series addressing current developments and key challenges in employment law. The event will take place on Tuesday, 30th of September at 11:30 in person at the Wolf Theiss office in Bucharest.

Following feedback from participants at the first edition, this session will focus on Closing the gender pay gap. In less than a year, employers across the EU will be required to implement transparent remuneration structures, comply with new reporting obligations and navigate enhanced enforcement rights for employees. With the 7 June 2026 implementation deadline for the Pay Transparency Directive approaching, companies must act swiftly to review and adjust their pay structures.

The discussion will be led by Partner Adelina Iftime-Blagean and Counsel Andreea Stan from our Bucharest office and will cover:

• Key definitions under the Directive and their implications for Romanian employers;
• Core obligations for employers and corresponding employee rights;
• Cultural and legal considerations specific to Romania;
• Status and expectations regarding the local implementation draft;
• Practical aspects of conducting internal audits and preparing for compliance.

Following the roundtable, participants are invited to join a webinar hosted by our employment law experts Partner Ralf Peschek (Wolf Theiss Austria) and Senior Associate Berislav Draskovic (Wolf Theiss Croatia), together with Magnus Drogell, CEO of PIHR, a provider of pay equity solutions. The webinar will address practical steps for employers across Europe, including:

• Defining equal work and work of equal value;
• Establishing compliant remuneration structures;
• Conducting up pay gap analysis and reporting.
