About Theresia Franziska Welser

Theresia Welser is a senior member of the Disputes team, specializing in corporate litigation.
She regularly acts in high value and strategically significant disputes, with a particular focus on D&O liability, shareholder disputes, auditor liability and white collar matters. Theresia is frequently instructed by major banks and multinational corporations in contentious proceedings involving complex factual and legal issues, often with a cross border dimension.
Building on her extensive corporate litigation practice, Theresia also represents private clients and family offices in high stakes disputes, in particular contentious private foundation matters and shareholder disputes. Her work in this area is shaped by a strong understanding of corporate governance and liability exposure, allowing her to handle disputes that often combine corporate, civil and criminal law aspects.
In addition, Theresia has experience in reputation driven litigation, including defamation proceedings and interim relief, and regularly advises on urgent measures such as injunctions.
Theresia joined Wolf Theiss in 2016, having previously gained experience at leading commercial law firms in Germany and the UK. She holds a law degree from the University of Vienna and is admitted to the Austrian Bar. Upon her admission, she was the youngest practicing attorney in Austria.
