Wolf Theiss defence outlook 2026: Romania in the regional context

Wolf Theiss’ regional Defence Team is organising an expert level event on emerging defence
developments in Central and Eastern Europe, with a particular focus on implications for Romania and
opportunities for industrial partnership.
The programme will open with welcome coffee, followed by expert discussions on key developments
shaping the defence sector across the region, including:
Defence landscape, procurement priorities and industrial cooperation in CEE
Key trends shaping defence capabilities and procurement priorities across the region, alongside
evolving expectations for military offsets and emerging models of US–CEE industrial collaboration.
Defence financing, M&A and strategic partnerships in Romania
Defence financing mechanisms and market expectations, M&A opportunities and challenges in
Romania’s defence sector, approaches to structuring joint ventures with state owned and private
defence companies, and key compliance considerations including FDI screening, cybersecurity and
transaction related regulations.
The programme will conclude with a networking cocktail reception.
