Thresholds changes and obligation for publishing expert opinions, studies and surveys in Austria

Thresholds changes and obligation for publishing expert opinions, studies and surveys in Austria

In this new episode of our Vergaberecht podcast, Dominik König and Klara Fuchs from our Public Procurement practice outline important changes in the area of public procurement law that came into force in 2023:

  1. The Threshold regulation, introduced in Austria in the wake of the financial crisis in 2008 and repeatedly extended since then, has now not been extended for the first time. What is the consequence of this and how low are the current thresholds?
  2. New publication obligation for expert opinions, studies and surveys. Dominik and Klara explain who the parties affected by the regulation are, what kind of documents fall under the publication obligation and if there are any exceptions.

These topics are currently shaping the procurement landscape and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. A critical question arises: are there any instruments available to cope with these topics and what are they in the public procurement sector?

For more details, you can listen to our new episode. Available in German.
