The two-day Forum brought together close to 300 corporates, institutional investors, private equity funds, investment banks, tax experts and financial advisors from all over the CEE region as well as many other parts of the world.

Ron Given, the Co-Managing Partner of Wolf Theiss Warsaw, played a key role in organizing the Forum and also served as its chair. He noted that: "We are proud to be a strategic sponsor of this important business gathering for the 3rd year running. This year’s record attendance of regional dealmakers confirms the continuing strong interest in investing in the CEE, a market in which we are a dominant law firm."

Ileana Glodeanu, a Bucharest-based Wolf Theiss partner who manages the Corporate/M&A team in Romania, moderated a dealmaker’s outlook panel. Together with panellists Jaroslaw Czernek of Rockaway Capital, Artur Tomala of Goldman Sachs, and Stanislaw Sawczyn of Rothschild, she discussed the status of deal activity in the CEE region and beyond, focusing on emerging markets and cross-border deals. The panelists shared insights on deal threats and risk mitigation best practices, as well as on what has changed and what is yet to happen, in the CEE region.

The Managing Partner of the Wolf Theiss Kyiv office, Taras Dumych, moderated a panel covering the economic prospects of Ukraine. Together with panellists Andrey Kolodyuk of the Ukrainian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (UVCA), Oles Kopets of Active Energy Group, Valeri Kulitski of BIC Securites, Svyatoslav Komakha of Portmone.com, and Alex Munteanu of 4i Capital Partners, he discussed the key sectors of Ukraine’s economy for cross-border and domestic investments and M&A. The panel also touched upon what is currently driving developments in Ukraine as well as the particularities of doing business there.

At the end of the first day of the Forum, Wolf Theiss hosted an event reception at its offices at which over 150 attendees enjoyed an informal gathering with a unique view of the Warsaw skyline. The featured speaker, Tadeusz Kościński, Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Economic Development, focused on why Poland remains such a good place to invest with positive prospects for growth. Reception guests also had the opportunity to view an exclusive presentation of the Made in Poland annual photography exhibition. The exhibition’s photographs, all taken in Poland, showcase female international amateur photographers. Sales of an accompanying book help support Polish charities.
