Wolf Theiss advises ENGIE on entering into exclusive negotiations regarding the sale of its services subsidiary Equans

Wolf Theiss has advised ENGIE on entering into exclusive negotiations for the sale of its services subsidiary Equans to Bouygues.

Wolf Theiss has, working alongside Herbert Smith Freehills and a group of leading European law firms, advised ENGIE, a French-based global energy group, on entering into exclusive negotiations with Bouygues for the sale of Equans for a valuation of EUR 7.1 billion.

The transaction is a milestone for ENGIE in the realisation of the group’s strategic plan to focus on its core activities, notably renewable energy.

Wolf Theiss advised ENGIE on all Austrian legal aspects of this cross-border transaction. Under the lead of Christian Mikosch (Partner) and Andreas Schmid (Partner), Rahim Rastegar (Corporate and M&A), Peter Pichlmayr (Corporate and M&A), Carolina Weber (Banking & Finance), Tanja Melber (Real Estate), Stefan Horn (Real Estate), Harald Strahberger (Real Estate), Georg Knafl (Real Estate) and Paulina Pomorski (IP & IT) made up the interdisciplinary Wolf Theiss team.

Equans is a division within ENGIE that acts as a global multi-technical service provider, employs 74,000 people in 17 countries and generates an annual turnover of over EUR 12 billion.
