Slovenia adopts intervention measures enabling deferred payment of borrowers' liabilities

On 20 March 2020, the National Assembly of Republic of Slovenia passed an Act on the Intervention Measure of Deferred Payment of Borrowers’ Liabilities (Zakon o interventnem ukrepu odloga plačila obveznosti kreditojemalcev, hereinafter the "Act"). The Act was adopted in order to mitigate the consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic and allows borrowers, who are not able to settle their liabilities due to the negative effects of the epidemic, to defer repayment of their liabilities for at least twelve (12) months.
