In our previous issue, our Ljubljana office gave you an overview of the implementation of the EU Damages Directive in Slovenia. Our colleagues from the Warsaw office explore this subject from a different angle and focus on the limitation periods in Poland under this Directive.

The last issue also outlined recent developments under Romanian criminal law and we continue to observe these controversial changes. From the start of 2017, the provisions regarding conflict of interest have generated significant debates and even protest. As announced by representatives of the Romanian government, further far-reaching changes are expected and our colleagues from Bucharest will keep an eye on these developments.

With regard to arbitration clauses, the Czech Supreme Court rendered an important ruling which, surprisingly, remained unnoticed by market participants and potential claimants. Our experts in the Prague office noticed and have thoroughly examined this ruling.

Last but not least, we want to give you an insight into our internal trainings and team building activities. Following the Wolf Theiss 60th anniversary party, members of the firm's Dispute Resolution Group gathered in Vienna to discuss the latest business and legal developments in the various CEE/SEE jurisdictions in which we practice.
