Newssquare Slovakia: Contracting Authorities May Cancel The Public Tender Procedures More Easily

The new amendments to the Slovak Public Procurement Act entered into force on February 27, 2014. According to the new rules, the contracting authorities may cancel the public tender procedures more easily.

Newssquare Amendments to the Takeover Act 

Croatian legislator recently adopted amendments to the Takeover Act. Amendments are particularly important because they are implementing landmark decisions of the Constitutional Court, as well as EU's directive 2004/25/EC on takeover bids and improving takeover legal framework by eliminating difficulties detected in its practical use.

Newssquare Croatian Labour Legislation Reform 

The current Labour Act, which was passed in 2009 and amended in 2011 and 2013, has been criticized for being rigid and not favourable to job expansion. Additional revisions are now before the Parliament. Those revisions are intended to increase employment by simplifying and clarifying the law, making the employment relationship more flexible, and reducing the associated administrative burdens. Further EU harmonization adjustments are also included. Going forward the law will be divided into two main parts, one governing individual and the other collective labour relations.
