BUCHAREST

City Information We opened our first office here in 2005 but were tackling Romanian cases long before that, so Bucharest is a city we know well. It’s an intriguing mix of the traditional and modern – fine neo-classical and Byzantine architecture, sometimes hidden by the more recent (and much less attractive) post-Stalinist housing blocks. Since Romania joined the EU in 2007, there’s been a real buzz around the place – lots of new investment and construction projects everywhere you look. We’d definitely recommend extending any visit here, although you may want to avoid the height of summer, when most locals prefer to escape to the coast. |
