02.09.2010: GLEISS LUTZ AND WOLF THEISS ADVISE INFINEON ON BILLION DOLLAR TRANSACTION WITH INTEL
Vienna, 2 September 2010 – Infineon Technologies AG has sold its Wireless Solutions business (WLS) to Intel Corporation. WLS is a leading manufacturer of chips and semiconductor platforms for mobile phones and smartphones. The purchase contract between Infineon and Intel was signed on 30 August and the agreed purchase price is USD 1.4 billion. The deal, which still requires the approval of the cartel authorities, is expected to close in early 2011.
