London/Vienna, 4 December 2009 - WOLF THEISS is pleased to announce that it was named "Worldwide - Entertainment and Media Law Team of the Year". The prestigious annual World Leaders International IP Awards ceremony was held Wednesday night in London. In the same category, Wolf Theiss competed against some of the top global law firms in the field. In winning the award for "Worldwide - Entertainment and Media Law Team of the Year," Georg Kresbach, head of Wolf Theiss' IP & IT Practice, was singled out for his representations of a number of renowned entertainment and media clients, such as Cineplexx Cinemas, Constantin Film and Microsoft. "Already in 2007 we were successful at the World Leaders International IP Awards by winning the prize for 'Excellence in IP Litigation' for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This award in the worldwide category makes us immensely proud and acknowledges our performance in the field of IP law," said Wolf Theiss Partner Georg Kresbach who accepted the prize Wednesday evening in London. Wolf Theiss was also acknowledged and nominated in three other categories: EMEA - Private Practice Patent Excellence/Litigation, EMEA - Private Practice Trademark Excellence/Litigation, and Worldwide - Pharmaceutical Law Team of the Year. Wolf Theiss was the only Vienna-based law firm to be nominated in four categories and that secured an award. The annual World Leaders International IP Awards recognizes achievement in specialized categories across four regions: Asia Pacific; EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa); Latin America/Caribbean and North America, as well as on a global basis.
